London Police Confirm Trudeau’s Taxpayer-Funded Hard Drug Program Failure
After nine years of Justin Trudeau, the Liberal-NDP’s radical experiments of hard drug legalization and taxpayer-funded free drugs has failed, with disastrous results. Yesterday, the Chief of the London Police Service (LPS) was unambiguous, “diverted safe supply is being resold into our community, it’s being trafficked into other communities, and it is being used as currency in exchange for fentanyl, fueling the drug trade.”
This confirms what Common Sense Conservatives have long been warning about, and what Trudeau’s radical Addictions Minister has been denying: taxpayer-funded, dangerous drugs are flooding the streets, funding organized crime, and making the opioid crisis worse.
Further data released by LPS shows that seizures of drugs from Trudeau's unsafe supply programs has increased, while pharmacy robberies have decreased. Increasing from 25% of the 5,000 hydromorphone tablets seized in 2021, to 50% of the 30,000 tablets seized in 2023.
Despite this, Liberal and NDP members of Parliament in London continue to stay silent as Trudeau’s drug policies ravage their community. Will Lindsay Mathyssen, Arielle Kayabaga and Peter Fragiskatos continue to protect the Prime Minister or will they speak out and demand an end to the NDP-Liberal taxpayer-funded hard drug program?
In light of this damning information, the Health Committee must reconvene to hear testimony from London Police. The numbers shared show that the crisis is only getting worse, with 94% of the 12,000 hydromorphone tablets seized since January were diverted from government-funded programs. Canadians have the right to know how their taxpayer dollars are being used to supply organized crime, fuel addiction, and fund diversion that is “no different from cocaine trafficking.”
There has been 45,000 drug overdose deaths in Canada since Justin Trudeau became Prime Minister, and the number keeps rising. In 2023, 8,049 Canadians were killed by opioids, up 7% in just the last year and 184% since Trudeau was elected in 2015. It is clear his dangerous experiment is not working, and only Common Sense Conservatives will bring our loved ones home drug free.
