Today is the 105th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, one of the most important battles in Canadian military history. The majestic and inspiring Canadian National Vimy Memorial stands on the highest point of Vimy Ridge in the French countryside. On the monument’s base are inscribed the names of the 11,285 Canadians killed during the First World War whose final resting place was unknown.
