Justin Trudeau’s radical experiments of legalization and taxpayer-funded hard drugs have failed. Since he formed government, opioid overdose deaths across Canada have surged by 166 percent, with 42,000 Canadians dying.
In British Columbia, where Trudeau granted the BC NDP’s hard drug legalization request, there has been a nearly 400 percent increase in drug overdose deaths.
In the first year of this reckless experiment, 2,500 Canadians died from drug overdoses.
Hard drug legalization has been a catastrophic mistake. But Justin Trudeau refuses to rule out the requests from Toronto Public Health and the City of Montreal to legalize hard drugs in Canada’s two largest cities.
Trudeau also won’t say whether hard drugs should be allowed in children’s parks, hospitals and public transit. On top of this, the Liberal Minister of Mental Health refuses to acknowledge that their dangerous experiment was a failure.
Common Sense Conservatives will not allow this deadly experiment to play out in other Canadian cities. For this reason, Conservatives have launched a motion in the House calling on Trudeau to proactively reject the City of Toronto and Montreal’s request to make deadly hard drugs like crack, cocaine, heroin, and meth legal. As well as this, Trudeau must commit to denying all future requests. This motion also calls to end taxpayer-funded narcotics and redirect the money to treatment and recovery.
Only Common Sense Conservatives will fight legalization and taxpayer-funded hard drugs.
